Welcome to the Launch of Luxurist!

What a whirlwind week it has been for us! It started with Anisha’s birthday celebration, followed by an enriching London Chamber Networking event, and then the inspiring Go Dharmic Charity Gala. And now, we are overjoyed to announce the launch of Luxurist!

This magazine has been a dream for both of us—Zamiha and Anisha. While managing our own successful businesses, we discovered a significant gap in the availability of South Asian lifestyle content that truly resonates with our experiences and those of our community.

Every day, we feel incredibly blessed to cross paths with remarkable individuals and enjoy wonderful experiences. We’ve come across so many outstanding products and services that we love, rooted in our Asian heritage and tailored to suit our modern lives. Growing up in the UK has given us eclectic tastes, and we’re excited to share our discoveries of great brands that reflect that diversity.

With Luxurist, we aim to provide a platform for a rich variety of content that speaks to the multifaceted lives we lead. Inside this launch issue, you will find a delightful mix of engaging stories, thought-provoking insights, and inspiration across a range of topics—health, wealth, fashion, and life experiences. OUR VISION

Luxurist will be the premier lifestyle and luxury magazine for the second and thirdgeneration Asian community – those with a Dual Identity, the Modern Asian – intertwining cultural heritage with progressive living. The richness of haute couture and luxury living from South Asia has made a significant impact on the global fashion and lifestyle landscape.

Yet, Western brands remain strikingly underrepresented. Beyond the wedding industry, there is no magazine or platform that truly celebrates the vast array of talent and creativity emerging from the Western world. In regions like the UK, America, Canada, and Dubai, there is a largely untapped wealth of brands, personalities, achievements, and inspiration. While British media tends to focus heavily on content from the subcontinent, our priority lies with the second and third generation of British-Asians.

We aim to immerse them in the diversity, sophistication, and innovation that Western brands and culture have to offer. Furthermore, at Luxurist, we believe in the beauty of diversity and inclusivity. Our content is thoughtfully crafted to represent individuals of all abilities, body types, skin tones, and mental health experiences. From showcasing those with physical differences and conditions like vitiligo, to celebrating every weight and height, we are dedicated to embracing and elevating voices and stories that reflect the rich diversity of our community.

Zamiha Desai

Founder of two of the most vibrant and engaged South Asian communities on Facebook—RecommendAsian and ProfessionalAsian—brings her passion for community building to this publication. With over 160,000 members across these groups, she has empowered countless small businesses and transformed lives through her commitment to supporting initiatives in health, the arts, and breaking taboos within the Asian diaspora. Her dedication to uplifting the community makes her an invaluable driving force for this magazine.

Anisha Vasani

With over 20 years of experience in the Luxury Fashion & wedding industry, including a decade as Editor of Asiana Wedding Magazine, brings her expertise and creative vision to this publication. As a trusted luxury wedding planner and creative director, Anisha has built strong relationships with elite industry professionals and celebrities, ensuring her deep understanding of both cultural heritage and modern luxury. Her vast experience and connections make her the ideal visionary to craft a magazine that resonates with a contemporary, dual-identity audience.

MARKETING STRATEGY

Pre-Launch:

  • Our audience acquisition strategy is centred around utilizing existing platforms, including niche Asian communities on Facebook such as Professional AsianandRecommend Asian, and collaborating with high-footfall events likeHey Gorgeous. Additionally, we will tap into our extensive network of influencers, content creators, and prominent individuals to build a strong mailing list, ensuring a highly engaged and eager audience for the release of both digital and print editions ofLuxurist Magazine.
  • The collected mailing lists will allow us to create lookalike audiences as part of
    our digital marketing campaign, targeting affluent professionals. The second
    phase of the strategy will focus on reaching CEOs and high-net-worth
    individuals through specialized social media advertising.

 

Launch Plan:

  • Upon launch,Luxurist will be introduced to our mailing list, with print editions available in exclusive lounges and executive suites at prestigious venues and hotels like The Lalit and The Taj Hotel, which have a significant Asian clientele. We will also distribute copies in Central London luxury locations such as aesthetics clinics and hair and beauty salons, as well as at awards ceremonies and key events. Additionally, we will place the magazine directly in the hands of influential content creators, specialist PR firms, and leading marketing agencies to ensure maximum exposure and engagement.
