Returning to acting after 20 years wasn’t driven by a specific inspiration but rather by a passion that has always been in me. Life took precedence with marriage, children, and pursuing further education, but the acting bug was never far away. As I delved deeper into South Indian cinema, the re-release of my first film felt like a sign from the universe, nudging me to explore acting once again. Motherhood has played a significant role in shaping my perspective on my career. While taking on projects like Mazaka was emotionally and physically taxing, it was incredibly important for me to show my children that it’s never too late to chase your dreams. I want them to know that pursuing your passion, no matter your age, is always worth it.
Balancing my career and raising two children has been challenging, with a lot of mummy guilt. I’ve missed special moments like Sports Day and birthdays, but I remind myself that these sacrifices are necessary for growth. I want my children to feel proud of me, knowing that I’m chasing my dreams just as I encourage them to do. Seeing the positive changes in my children, such as more connection and less time on gadgets, has made the sacrifices worthwhile.
Sharing my journey with my children has been a deeply special experience. When they saw me on the big screen for the first time, it was a moment of pride and joy for us all. They witnessed the excitement and crowds, and it’s a memory I’ll always cherish.
My message to other women pursuing their passions is simple: never stop chasing your dreams, no matter your stage in life. Being a mother doesn’t mean giving up on who you are; you can have the best of both worlds.
